About Us

Hillcrest Children’s Center is a nonprofit
501(c)(3) organization dedicated to providing high-quality, play-based early childhood education. Our program focuses on nurturing children’s development through engaging, hands-on learning experiences that promote creativity, social skills, and cognitive growth.

Our Mission

Hillcrest Children’s Center provides a quality, play-based early childhood education program.

Our play-based program nurtures young children as innate learners, fostering resilience and curiosity in a safe, intentional environment. Guided by responsive adults, we aim to instill a love of learning and a sense of community responsibility.

Drawing from diverse approaches like Waldorf and Reggio, we honor each child’s unique journey while committing to Anti-Bias education.

Through meaningful play and engaging activities, we empower children to explore, master new skills, and develop a positive self-identity.

Our Values

Family: atmosphere, comfort, open, familiar, community, home away from home, nurturing, parent involvement, ownership, responsibility

Inclusiveness: equity, diversity, affirmation of full potential, acceptance, meeting each individual & family where they are, flexible, respect, whole person, family dynamic, access for people from different economic strata, language, culture, ability, and adaptive capacity

Hillcrest isn’t “good enough”. Hillcrest is great. In Anchorage, Hillcrest is the Gold Standard. The teachers and staff at Hillcrest don’t just teach. They love. And they don’t just love the kids in their classroom, but the entire family.
